Full original vellum with corner missing on back board. Claude Le Laboureur (1601-1675) was an historian and clergyman who wrote on genealogy and heraldry. This book was criticised by Menestrier(1631-1705) a French jesuit and one of the leading heraldists of his time, provoking a response from Le Laboureur published in 1660, and a further response from Menestrier published the next year. A very good copy in original binding with 150 exquisite inset engravings. Very Good. Item #017348
