Woodblock devices at beginning of some psalms. 20th Century full calf binding, spine labels. 16 leaves with marginal torn top corner, 10 of which have small amount of text affected. Topographical imprint for 'Robinet Mace' on last page. Petrus de Harentals (also known as Petrus Floressiensis; 1322-1390), was prior of the Premonstratensian Abbey Floresse, close to Namur, Flanders.After a period of decline early in the 14th C, its status was revived partly by the work of de Harentals who wrote notable commentaries on the scriptures, which continued to be published through to the early 16th C. Two editions of the current volume were published in 1504; a copy is recorded in the Bodleian and a listing recorded with the Bibliotheque National de France). The printer Robert (Robinet) Mace was a member of a successful printing and publishing family based in Rouen, Caen and Rennes. Robert (d. 1506) was active at the University of Caen between 1498 and 1506, during which time he was involved in printing the current work. A good firmly bound copy, internally mostly very good.
