Complete with the portraits, fine panoramic folding plates and folding maps of north and south parts of Great Britain and another of Ireland, by H. Moll, Geographer. A very good copy of this illustrated 2nd edition, in near perfect original binding with many interesting ink annotations in contemporary hand. Clarendon lived through the Civil War and was Chancellor at the restoration. He wrote the History between 1646 and 1648, adding more in 1671 on subsequent events and on his life.
