1943. No Binding. ALS to Mr Riding mentioning the sorrows which have come on a mutual friend - "Dear Riding, Thanks you for your letter of March 10th. I am writing to St Hill - what fearful sorrows have come upon him! He is as you say so completely delightful a person, & I feel very deeply for him. The memory of my visit to him still lingers with me & will for a very long time. With all good wishes and kindest regards to Mrs Riding." "My book is going to a fourth impression, which is very encouraging". Headed and dated "3 Malvern Court, SW7. 21.iii.43" Two sides. (17.5 x 13 cm). The book referred to was "Cricket between the Two Wars, 1942. Warner (1873-1963) was known as the 'Grand Old Man of English Cricket", one of the best known of test cricketers and cricket administrators between the wars. His grand-daughter is the noted writer Marina Warner. Very Good. Item #018000
