A lively account of the author's experiences and duties in the Hutt Valley and Wanganui areas whilst serving as an officer in the British Army in 1846-7. He gives an account of the murder of the Gilfillan family and covers everyday life and events in the Colony. Six of the lithographs depict the Wanganui area, another is of Tamati Waka Nene, chief of the Ngapui and the eighth is of Taranaki Maori War. Very Good. Item #018573
