A superb engraving o f the "Native Church at Otaki, New Zealand - from a drawing by C D Barraud, Wellington", showing the fine timbered interior, with an article describing the church as "entirely the work of the natives..". The article also provides an up-date of the Christchurch and the Canterbury settlement. An article on New Zealand announces the discovery of gold in the Coromandel region, and an up-date on Auckland and its activities, including a classic engraving of a view of Auckland from the new wharf, with Partington's Mill in the far background.
