No Binding. Handwritten note on blindstamped House of Commons letterhead to Mr Ross of the Press Gallery - "Dear Mr Ross, Sir ___ ____ will follow W.Bright. I hope you will be able to give him a good report. He will not be long. Yours, W.H. Smith". One side of single sheet (18.5 x 12 cm). Smith (1825-1891) was a bookseller with his family business WH Smith. He entered parliament in 1868 and occupied significant positions including First Lord of the Admiralty, Secretary of State for War, First Lord of the Treasury, and Leader of the House. Very Good.
