Photograph of the Maheno in Lyttleton Harbour, arriving eventually in the eastern Mediterranean in August 1915. The Maheno was previously a Union Steamship Co. craft plying the Tasman route. "Dunluce Castle". July 1915. Photograph of the ship in port. She was converted from a troopship, originally bring troops to Europe, to a hospital ship, serving in the Gallipoli campaign Niagara hospital ship, Suez canal. Photograph of the Niagara in dock with soldiers and ambulance. The ship was requisitioned from the Anglo American Nile Company and used in the Eastern Mediterranean theatre during the war. Very Good.
