Collection of pencil drawings from 1865 of New Zealand scenes

1865. No Binding. 5 pencil drawings, each 18 x 27 cm, showing lake and river scenes, mostly from the Waikato region. They include: The Bluff, Mangatawhiri, a paddle steamer, settlement on the shore and a canoe in the foreground Whangamarino Bridge, Collet House. 14/4/65, showing a canoe with two figures in the foreground, the bridge crossing from lowlands to the bluff with settler houses on it. A lake scene, 23/4/65with canoe in foreground, man and dog fishing, and paddle steamers moored on one bank, and settlers houses on the other. A lowland, swamp scene with high hills in the background "The old tree" with a lake scene with Maori canoe and cultivated fields across the lake. An interesting collection on thick art paper, some discolouration, though the images very clear. Artist unknown, but a competent, descriptive hand. Very Good. Item #019223
