The dedication by Guedon the publisher is to Thomas Cranmer (d.1556), Archbishop of Canterbury.Talliano (Alexander of Tralles; Alessandro di Tralles) was the 6th C Greek physician with modern views on causes of disease, particularly from worms, the plague and similar diseases. The influential book, with index, comprises most of Talliano's work on the causes and treatments of diseases. A title page'is laid down on the first leaf with publisher's device, dated 1547.
