Maori photographs

Dunedin: De Maus, 1897. No Binding. Two composite photographs showing Maori. The first one shows the entrance to a Maori Pa, Rotorua, "Waikato Warrier", "Maori Belle", "Matene Karako", "carved Maori whare". The second is called" Maori types", "From the Land of the Maori" and comprises six Maori portrait, each photo with different styles of decoration. Both sets of photos are set on one album page. A most attractive piece, with both image dark, clear and in fine condition. David De Maus set up a photography studio in Dunedin in 1867 and was active through to his death in 1925. Very Good.
