1832. No Binding. Water colour portrait of two sisters of the Dowdeswell Family. A Dowdeswell sister, Sarah Wall (nee Dowdeswell) and her husband Anthony Wall and their young family emigrated to New Zealand in 1841, settling in Porirua. This fine portrait of two Dowdeswell sisters is possibly that of two of Sarah's sisters to whom she wrote after her arrival in New Zealand and could be a memento brought out to New Zealand. The watercolour is on a card 17.5 x 22 cm, with foxing but not affecting the image. Good. Item #019731
