4to. Hardcover. Magnificently bound large quarto album, contemporary morocco with heavily gilt decorations, all edges gilt, silk end papers, assembled by F. William Cock, MD, a noted physician and antiquarian, in 1896. Contains Victorian steel engravings, cards, hand-written poems sometimes with a dedication, aquatint and hand-drawn portraits. Also includes some entries of brilliantly painted butterflies "Painted by Auntie Ellis, given by her to me ,1852". Many pages blank. Several loose images not tipped in. Such albums are scarce, and because of the beautiful binding, it could be added to or personalised by a discerning collector. Very Good. Item #019732
