Cycling magazines from the 1930s.
Hercules; Raleigh. Soft cover. Two cycling magazines published by the Hercules (Birmingham) and Raleigh (Nottingham) companies respectively. "Hercules Cycling Magazine" pp 45, has a fine colour front page, and full-page coloured advertisements for different bicycle models. It also includes articles on cycling, including how to protect your skin from the sun using tomato juice, camping, and an article with illustrations of a tandem bike. There are many cartoons, letters to the editor, illustrations, and prices: 13 quid gets you a fine new tandem. "Cycling", dated July 10, 1935 pp 32, includes advertisements for bicycles and cycling gear, and articles on cycling tours, racing, and general cycling "No bells required", though it advises that it would be sensible to use them. A couple very attractive, scare cycling magazines in excellent condition. Very Good. Item #019778
