Signed hand-written letter
1923. No Binding. Hand-written letter signed "Alec Waugh", on Chapman & Hall's letterhead paper, 11, Henrietta Street, Covent Garden, W.C.2., dated 1.3..23. The letter is addressed to "Dear Grubb", publisher with Chapman and Hall, thanking him for sending a copy of the American edition of Georgian Stories 1922. Along with his thanks, Waugh laments the absence on the book of others such as Aldous Huxley, and notes the lack of humour in the collection. Waugh, brother of the more famous and accomplished Evelyn Waugh, contributed a story "The Intruder", along with stories from many other authors of the day. Waugh was at an early stage in his long writing career, this soon after his first great success with "The Loom of Youth" in 1917. 13 x 20 cm. Very Good. Item #019905
