Portrait of two Maori wahine, King Country
Dunedin: Burton Bros. No Binding. B&W silver gelatin photograph of two Maori wahine in full cloaks, posed in front of a whare with fine carving. Taken in the King Country as part of a Burton Bros. series, c.1880s. On the revers is an early photograph of Dunedin taken from the Town Hall tower, showing the lower part of the Octagon with the harbour beyond. Mounted on original card which has some foxing, not affecting the image. Card 24 x 27 cm, image 14.5 x 19.5 cm. Very Good. Item #019990
