Contemporary hand-written numbers for square acres and miles in circuit for each county added to list of maps.There a number of contemporary hand-written notes tipped in, including addresses of country estates. and signatures. Of particular significance is a map pasted opposite the Suffolk map, and a contemporary hand-written description titled 'Lord Pagets's Instructions for establishing advanced posts'. The description and map show where military posts were established in the area bounded by Ipswich, Woodbridge and the rivers Orwel and Deben. This was at the time of the Napoleonic wars in the early 1800s. Opposite the Surrey map is a marriage notice in contemporary hand tipped in, and a lose sheet with a hand-coloured diagram of a military plan showing regimental positions such as the Dorset Volunteers under Col. Digby, etc., with a short diary on the reverse. Good. Item #020005
