1900. No Binding. One side, folded sheet, 15 x 10 cm. Headed Copenhagen, April 11th, with Prince of Wales crest. Signed letter: " Dear Mrs Walker, Accept my ......most thanks for your kind letter of ... & ... in the narrow escape we had at Brussels. We are much touched by the marks of sympathy which have been shown us on the present occasion. I remain, Sincerely yours, Albert Edward. A hand-written envelope addressed to Mrs Walker, stamped and dated from Liverpool, April 14, 1900. Written the year before Albert Edward ascended the throne in 1901. The Brussels incident was an assassination attempt by a young Belgian anarchist Jean-Baptiste Sipido who fired 2 shots at the Prince and Princess Alexandra, one grazing the Princes head, protesting at the against the many deaths in the Boer War.
