1921. No Binding. Single page typed signed letter headed Thomas Nelson and Sons LImited, London, dated 4th February 1921. Addressed to Mrs M C Carey turning down, a little brusquely, an invitation to write something for the first Girl Guide Annual. "I have no gift for occasional writing, and am very busy." Buchan (1875-1940), the noted writer of Thirty-nine Steps, and Greenmantle, and diplomat, was about to continue his political career, culminating in an appointment as Governor General of Canada in 1935. 21 x 27 cm.
