1865. No Binding. Black and white engraving by Charles Merton of Bank's Peninsular and the French settlement of Akaroa in 1865. This was sketched by the important engraver Meryon stationed on the Rhin during its stay at Akaroa in 1843-186. The etching is one that he made from his sketches at the time with the intention of later publishing an album, which never eventuated. In mount showing 14 x 18 cm. Very Good. Item #020672
