1956. No Binding. Hand-written letter on a single sheet with letter head, Edgecliffe Boulevarde, Collaroy Plateau, Sydney, addressed to: Mr Eric R Gibbs P.O. Box 164 Taihape, N.Z. 29th July/56. Re your Antarctic Collection, I regret I have nothing that I can send to add to it. Any relics I may have had, have long since been sent to our Museum. The few trifles I have are of personal interest. Sir Douglas Mawson, Adelaide University, has all the negatives of the expedition. With good wishes, Yours sincerely, Frank Hurley. Hurley (1885-1962) was the official photographer for the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-14) led by Douglas Mawson, the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition of 1914-16 led by Ernest Shackleton, and BANZARE (1929-31), again led by Mawson.
